  • Downhill mountain biking 

Val d'Isère is known as one of the pioneer resorts for downhill mountain biking, along with its counterpart Tignes, and has a vast park for this activity. The Bike Park has 160 km of biking trails classified by level of difficulty. There are downhill tracks, beginners' areas, cross-country paths, electrically assisted mountain bike paths, etc. To access this area, 5 ski lifts are open to the public, as well as a shuttle service.

 

  • Yoga 

Try out an outdoor yoga class and take the opportunity to relax in the middle of nature. Discover HATHA YOGA, which consists of breathing exercises that are beneficial to both physical and mental health, during one or more sessions. 

 

What to do in Val d'Isère in summer : discover unique sites

  • Col de l’Iseran 

By car, electric bike or road bike for those who are fit, climb up to the Iseran pass, a mythical stage during the Tour de France (crossed a total of 8 times) to admire the breathtaking panorama it offers over the Pisaillas and Maurienne glaciers. Located at an altitude of 2,764 m, it is the highest mountain pass in the Alps and connects the Maurienne and Tarentaise valleys. 

 

  • The Vanoise National Park

Created in 1963, the Vanoise National Park concentrates both a diversity of animal species and flora thanks to the variety of environments, between plains and mountains. If you are lucky, you may see chamois, marmots and even ibex! This preserved area is full of all kinds of natural wonders such as glaciers, rivers, lakes, waterfalls... It is impossible not to fall under the spell of this little corner of paradise, nestled between the high valleys of the Tarentaise and the Maurienne. Hikers or simple visitors can walk along more than 400 km of marked trails to discover more than 1,400 plant species in the heart of a park covering 535 km². 

 

  • Lake Ouillette  

Easily accessible by the Solaise cable car, the Col de l'Iseran road or on foot via the Arolle Millénaire footpath, this site is renowned for being a real source of energy and serenity. At an altitude of 2,500 m, discover an exceptional panorama with a view of the surrounding mountains. Lake Ouillette is the ideal place for a picnic with family or friends. You can also discover the pleasures of fishing by renting a rod from a fisherman for an afternoon. For petanque enthusiasts, a boccy ball ground is available and waiting for you!
